This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with West Ham on May 5. The two teams are neck-and-neck in the table as both are competing for spots in European competition, which means, it is all to play for here.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs West Ham

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

With so many injuries, the team almost picked itself as there were only twelve senior players available for the match with Tottenham, the rest were all academy youths filling out the bench. Djordje Petrović has been in goals with the back four consisting of Marc Cucurella, Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Axel Disasi, and Alfie Gilchrist.

Moisés Caicedo and Conor Gallagher have played as the defensive midfield pairing with Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson playing as the attacking four.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

Mauricio Pochettino has used a 4-2-3-1 to fairly mixed results. Wins against Tottenham and Everton were offset by defeats to Manchester City and Arsenal. There was also a controversial draw with Aston Villa in the middle.

While not perfect defensively, they will definitely take some positive energy after keeping two clean sheets in their last five after a lengthy run without one to start 2024. Goalscoring is also not an issue as they have rebounded well from drawing blanks against the Gunners and the Citizens.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

With a small break between the last fixture and the West Ham clash, the Blues haven’t offered a new injury update for this weekend. Pochettino didn’t have much to offer either aside from noting that Levi Colwill and Christopher Nkunku are expected to be available.

Robert Sanchez, Raheem Sterling, Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Enzo Fernández, Carney Chukwuemeka, Romeo Lavia, Malo Gusto, Ben Chilwell, Silva, Disasi and Wesley Fofana are all likely to stay sidelined.
